Backyard Hack
Our newest Texan Ken Sungela dropped by my shop today after relocating from New Jersey. Super nice guy and we had a good chat about shops, cars and painting. Great to put a face to the name. Welcome to Texas Ken! Looking forward to seeing some of your awesome Corvettes in person.

You Texans have gotten soft. When I moved there in '88, the first billboard I saw said, " Welcome to Texas! Now, go home."
Lol!
Many moons ago, when I lived in FL.
There were bumper stickers that said, "Yankee, go home but leave your daughter."

I guess a lot left daughter as a homegrown would be outnumbered today. Lol.

Great move Ken!!!!

A lot of us Midwesteners moved to Texas when the economy was bad here. I went to work at Sea World in San Antonio. I loved Texas!

My best memories as a young kid was growing up in Dickinson Texas. My sis was born in Clear Lake City at the Hospital. Playing Little League baseball was so much fun. I still keep in contact with my Coach from the 9-10 yo team. On our way to Church every SUnday we would go by Gilleys Nightclub in Pasadena. My Mom bless her, would tell me to close my eyes and not look at it. :D It had such a bad reputation I guess Mom worried that driving past it and looking at the Nightclub would corrupt me. :D I remember the Ayatollah Assahollah bumper stickers on cars during the Iran hostage crisis. My Dad worked on the Oil refineries. Was a really good time in my life. I love Texas as well.

My father was a Border Patrol man stationed in Brownsville. I was born in Brownsville but left there at 2 years old, when he transfered to US Customs in Tampa, never been back to Texas but would love to go see my home state one day.

My mom lives in Brownsville, I was down there about 3 months ago. Alot has changed down there from when I was a kid

I've been spending a lot of time lining up some resources to continue my car building endeavors. Don has been helping me with that. Finding someone to paint my cars has been challenging. I have two more leads to follow-up, so hopefully one of them will work out.

I think he should put a lot of pressure on Don to paint the cars!!!!!!!
Thanks for the vote of confidence but I am not worthy of painting cars of that value. The pressure would kill me. I need to stay in my nice driver quality lane… :)

I understand if you don't want to do stuff like that, but that doesn't mean you aren't capable. Paint is paint. Details are what you are talking about. You could handle the paint no problem. And your stuff is hardly driver quality. Are you forgetting the six figure TA? Or the green Vette. Or any of the other cars like that resto mod Mustang? If you are being modest just to be modest that's fine, but if you actually think you aren't capable then realize that you are. More than most of the guys out there.

Your visitor eats mine….Field mice are my most frequent visitors.
Hell I’d almost be satisfied to watch Don.
I’d like to have him paint mine, but I’m not sure I’d be comfortable with his level of driver quality….I think it would be too nice.
