Shutting off the fan between coats of Universal Clear

I am looking at a 40 minutes re-coat window/flash time so ...I was wondering if I should shut down my fan between coats after the fog has cleared, or just keep it running until the last coat then shut down the fan? Thanks

Most people let it run but it can be done either way.

I know I shut mine off just to prevent dragging more trash into the garage. I'll typcally spray, let the fan run for about 10 min to make sure the air is completly clear. Shut it off so I can open the garage door and not worry about a burtst of air, wait 30-40 min then repeat process.

The slower it tacks up the better-less chance of solvent pop. In booths with a lot of airflow the clear can tack up a lot faster-sometimes too fast, and I think that's why Barry suggests shutting the fan off after the fog has cleared-this leaves the clear a little more time to purge off solvent before it kicks over. Results in a little more flow and potentially better as sprayed gloss.
