Solvent sprayer recommendation needed

I picked up a "Sureshot A1000G 1 Quart" pressurized sprayer. I have not put any solvent in it to test in case I need to return it. When I pressurize it the air pattern (fan?) coming out is not very big. It also appears to run out of air pretty quickly. I will be using it to spray W&G remover and perhaps acetone and lacquer thinner as well.
- Can someone using one provide feedback on its functionality/efficacy?
EDIT:
- Is anyone using a different sprayer with a wider less circular more fan-like pattern?

Cheers,
Emil

I use it and get a circular pattern. I'm guessing 6-8 inches wide. Mine runs for quite a long time between having to recharge the air. What PSI are you pressurizing to?

In normal use the compressed air is used to push the fluid out of the container. It doesn’t flow out of the nozzle like a spray gun. Your test does not simulate the intended application imo.

I wouldn't use SPI 700 in a Sureshot Sprayer. Maybe it was just my Sureshot but, SPI 700 ate thru the can on the bottom and at the spot welds on the can. I see Harbor Freight now carries a Sureshot looking compressed air canister that is rated for chemicals.

I charged it to 80 PSI just to get an idea of the pattern. A circular pattern is what it felt like to me. I would prefer a more "Spray Gun" type fan pattern for product control but I know the SS is what most people use.

I agree.
I didn't want to put solvent in it before I had an idea of how well it would work. I know it's what Barry recommends which is why I got it.

I said Sureshot because it is what everyone would recognize but the one you listed above is the one I purchased.

I'm going to purchase one from Harbor Freight to see how it performs. I'll use it for SPI 710 Wax & Grease remover. SPI 700 does not screw around when it comes to cleaning bare metal. It's powerful stuff, so powerful there isn't a metal canister on earth that can handle the chemicals in it

Get an empty ZEP spray bottle at lowes...2 years or better, no problem...BTW, if you have never used ZEP for degreasing, your working to hard.

Just for clarification, you've use the ZEP bottles and stored SPI 700 in them?

I've had the same ZEP type bottle and sprayer head for over a year with 710. Never experienced the degradation of the plastic that has been mentioned before.

Thanks for speaking up but, I made a typo when I asked that question. I meant to say SPI 700. Haven't found a spray-able bottle/container yet that will not fail using 700.

I got this after suggestions from this forum. I do love the sure shots but they are heavy and require compressed air. I use this instead. Simple hand pump and completely chemical resistant. I also use it so much for general cleaning too.

The USC version is a bit pricey now at $68 but there are a number of cheaper knock offs out there too. Some not as chemical resistant as the USC version. But if they have Viton O-rings that's a good sign.

I use this one. It's empty now and frankly can't remember if I've had 700 or 710 in it. Worth a try.
How long have you had it?
Do you recall if you used it for 700?

The reviews for it on Amazon are not that favorable, but then again, almost all sprayers on Amazon have low scores. Even the USC Handy Spray HD has 77% 5-star and 9% 1-star reviews. I consider products with above 81% 5-star and below 3% 1-star reviews to be of good quality but there are always exceptions.

the usc sprayer wont work for 700. it works great for 710. for 700 you need an acetone sprayer. viton doesnt work for acetone. it eventually swells it. just google acetone sprayer. they are cheap and you can keep 700 in them without issue and they are not expensive.

the smith sprayer above are the ones i use. have had 700 sitting in one for 3 years. works great.
Thanks Jim. I will order that one for 700.
BTW, will The smith sprayer work for 710 as well or shout i keep the Sureshot style one I already have?
