Sometimes things just work out for the better

Senile Old Fart

Made a purchase on ebay for a heater-a/c control for a 67 Mustang. Did a make offer and the seller accepted it. I paid via Paypal.
3 weeks go by and no item, contact seller , wait 2 days and no reply. Contact ebay and send seller a last chance to ship item or I will dispute it. Seller doesnot reply. I contact ebay again about dispute. Within 24 hrs ebay has had Paypal put my $75 back into my bank account (verified with my bank to be sure).

Today I did a ebay search for a similar item again, came across one that was in a bit better condition and then seller had is listed with a bin of 42.75 with shipping. Score :)

When it gets here I am going to see IF I can use the mechanism from the 67 to fit into the bezel of the 65 Mustang I am working on. When I get this abortion all working I will have in dash factory 67 Mustang a/c in my 65. I totally hate the box hanging under the dash that was used in those early years, and the aftermarket units delete the outside air feature.
I have a 67 firewall installed in my 65 so the oem hvac housing from the 67 fits like it was made to be there. Installing a 67 core support also so the radiator and condenser will fit like it came there. ( can you tell I don't much care for aftermarket universal add on stuff,LOL)

Today I am happy to get my money back, find a bit better part for less money, and 2 big white boxes from SPI came via UPS today :)
btw Barry - the driver said he liked your packaging as we were visiting abit about the contents of said boxes and giving him the sales pitch to spread the word about SPI. He said I wouldn't believe all the messes he has had in his truck from leaking packages. That is an atta boy for you and the crew !!!

Other than the original hassle on the parts it sounds like good things all the way around. SPI definitely knows how to package their materials.

UPDATE: Received the control, it is for non ac, even though the Ebay ad said ac. Sent message to seller, they refunded full price with shipping costs, didn't ask for the part back. I would gladly send it back if they would cover shipping. Guess they just want to cut their loses.
Does anyone know if the mechanical part is the same as an ac controller other than not having the vacuum valve? Maybe I can come across a valve and add to this if that is how Ford did it.
