spi primers on flexible parts

is the standard primer flexible enough for bumper repairs or does anyone know of a flex additive i can use with the spi products.thnxs inh advance

If you don't abuse it, keep the thickness reasonable and you won't have any problems. Epoxy works a lot better though-better flexibility and chip resistance!

time is what im worried about,as it isn't on my side.only have couple dats with car.if i blow 2 coats ,maybe 3,which is what id like to do.how long would i have to wait before i could sand.doing complete strip on front cover, front of hood and fenders.cousins car so i wanna do the best job possible but only have car for few days not a few weeks which is what i would like as i could really make some thing out of this turd.thnxs in advance russ

Tell your Cousin to let you have it longer, but urethane primer would be your best bet if you're in a hurry.

thats why i was asking if barry or anyone else has a suggestion on a flex additive i could use w/spi 2k primer

Once you have a bumper ready, for bare plastic, spray on an adhesion promoter then a couple coats of reduced epoxy,
reduced 50% it's a sealer coat and can be painted over in just an hour later.
SPI epoxy is plenty flexable enough for bumpers, I use it on bumpers all the time.
It will greatly increase adhesion and reduce road rash compared to regular 2K (urethane) primers.
It won't shrink as much either.

if i spray 2 maybe 3 coats, trying to fill small stuff, how long would it be befor i could sand it for sealer.thnxs, russ

Epoxy isn't the way to go if you're in a hurry. The more coats you apply the longer it takes to cure. I find it to sand best after a few days.
