Spot Paint on 20 year clear coat

I’m considering buying a 57 Chevy. It’s jet black with clear. The owner patch welded a few very small rust blister areas then epoxy primed the areas. Small 2” repairs. The rest of the paint is in good shape good mils of clear coat. Any reason it can’t be spot painted and blended?

No reason at all you cant do it.
Only problem i see is remember black is one of the hardest colors to match, so try and find out what was used and buy that base code.
