Spraying SPI Epoxy over existing Epoxy of another brand

Hello, I have a project with a few panels that were sprayed a while back with Axalta ( DuPont) 2580CR epoxy. This epoxy has chromate in it. I would like to scuff this existing epoxy and spray over it with SPI since I have now switched brands. Is this allowable? I would prefer to not strip the old epoxy if possible.

Everything depends on how all of that previous work was done. If you trust the previous surface prep, and the product was activated properly, there is no reason why SPI epoxy could not be sprayed over such a properly sanded (NOT scuffed) substrate.
 
The sheetmetal was sandblasted and properly cleaned. I planned on sanding with 180, re-cleaning and then shooting the SPI. Sound about right?
