I joined Hotrodders back in about 2002, and spent a lot of time there. I posted in the transmission section for a long time, having done transmissions for a number of years and rebuilt over 5000 transmissions, I had a pretty good idea what I was talking about. Basically between Crosley and I there were very few questions that we couldn't handle, with good knowledgeable answers. That area was taken over by some people that may have seen a photo of a transmission once, so they came in and ruined everything. I got tired of the crap and left that area, since I don't really have the time to waste. People were starting to ask questions about the newer trans that I knew nothing about anyway, so I couldn't help them. Seemed like a good time to leave.
The autobody area was pretty enjoyable for a while. The know it alls showed up and decided to start arguements with everyone. They posted a lot of wrong information, and were determined to take over, pushing junk products and proceedures. This site has always been one that has kept out the BS. Although I have gone to a couple of other sites since this one started, they have not been clean like this one. I guess when you are only interested in how many "members" you can add up, the content of the site degrades.
One thing about this site is the professionalism. I know that I can post a question and I will get the correct information. If someone comes here and tries to give out wrong information, they will be corrected quickly. That will not be allowed to continue. That makes a big difference.
I no longer take things as personally as I used to. Time is too short for that anymore.
