Time Delay of panels and car.

You might not be seeing much overspray with the primer because it is heavier and doesn't aerosolize as much, but your fan is important to evacuate VOC (especially isocyanate), which are the hazard to you and explosions if they reach a critical mass. No amount of efficiency of your gun can prevent VOC, both as it's being sprayed and as it's flashing off.

You will find clear will make a fog almost instantaneously, whereas heavy primers don't. Regardless of that, you still want to get all the bad joojoo out of the air.
Thanks will do!

I thought I’d post a few pictures. The sealer sent on vey well and smooth. I did 4 coats and an happy with the results and thrilled about the color choice! The ventilation worked better than I had hoped. Using a 42 inch fan for negative pressurization and 4 20x30 air filters. Had good flow….was just right.

Got a few bibs and two very very minor drip starts.

Plan is to clear tomorrow. I am planning on using 1500 wet to clean up any nibs and smooth out the two heavy spots.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for all the help her guys and to Barry who fielded my calls today.

Looks good. If you sand your base you will need to respray at least one coat of base.

Don
Oh I didn’t know that. Hum. Is that how you guys get rid of nibs? Maybe I’ll sand it in the morning and respray after that. That does complicate the windows. There aren’t that many nibs and they are small. Wonder if I can knock them down a little and the clear?

My advice is to leave them alone unless you are going to respray base. If they are small you will not see them after clear over a solid color base. Even a tiny bit of sanding will be visible if you don’t respray base. Metallic base you would sand and respray.

Maybe a pro will weigh in.
