Under Hood and Trunk Lid

I have taken the car, a '66 Mustang, down to bare metal. Except for the underside of the trunk and hood. Is it ok to scuff those with red scotchbrite and prime? High build primer or epoxy then high build?

Unless you have body work going on and need the high fill to level
you're better off using only epoxy.
Less thickness and better adhesion.
Thank you, sir. I'm on several paint forums, as this is my first resto. but this one is the most responsive. Very helpful. Thanks again.

Thats a lot of difficult sanding, I just plan on dip stripping, epoxy, and paint. 1-2-3, if I ever get to it.

Not an expert by any means, but I'd rethink dipping. Unless dipping has changed over the years, it will likely make pinch weld areas bubble after a few years. It did on mine. Hopefully someone on here can give you a better option.
Enjoy your build.
