Use on fiberglass?

My brother has a boat and we were thinking of using some bedliner as a non-skid to the narrow area along the cabin circling the bow. It has a pebbled like texture in the fiberglass, would SPI bedliner help traction? If so, what sort of surface prep would be required?

A coat of epoxy would be great.

If you do this I have walnut powder used in the bedliner by a party boat builder we add, so no one breaks their neck on a pile of food or fish guts.
Just let me know, we use 4 oz per mixed gallon.

is it necessary to use epoxy? the fiberglass surface we want to do has a pebbled texture to it (not paint), should it be sanded?

it will need to be sanded somehow, unless it is new glass.
Epoxy is only an option.

IF ME, I would clean and sand at same time with a red scuff pad, using scuff stuff or waterborne cleaner and then shoot a coat of epoxy for the extra adhesion in the valleys you could not sand.

The bed liner will bite on its own if clean enough and some sanding.
