I acquired this 1964 Vespa recently and I know what going to happen. Down to the frame, rebuild everything and overboard on the paint job.

This one sat for a long time, the engine is stuck but overall condition is not that bad. It's all there.
It's one cylinder, two stroke, 4 speed. Many lawn mowers and snow blowers have more hp than this:D.
I found a Vespa forum because I don't know anything about these, Wow what a bunch of snobs. Instantly condemned as a poor Asian or Indonesia restoration because there is a small spot on the glove box were a dent had filler and the speedometer didn't look right.
Who cares, its a simple scooter. Couldn't get straight answers like what's the speedo supposed to look like? Is it not possible it was freshened up and painted in the United States? It's almost 60 years old! Unlikely to have the original finish! Doesn't look good for info over there.
Color sucks but it appears to be how it was originally. Thinking Ferrari red.

Vespa Community is the low income version of Porsche and Ferrari owners. I think the Ferrari owners are the worst though. Serious snobs.
Of course there are exceptions and especially some Porsche owners but there are a lot of douche bags within those communities.
Should be nice when you finish with it Ernie.

That's funny:D.
Maybe I can do a start to finish thread here like Jim, 68 and others have done. Though to steal the time, always jobs to do with customers up my you know what. I do have a mind to do that scooter up right and not post it on the snob forum :p ha ha.
Be fun to rip up Main st. on my 5 minute ride to and from my shop. Might take 5 minutes to get up to speed.

There was an American Pickers episode where they were at some body's place that had I think around 300. Seems the guys dad used to fix them and since they weren't made anymore those were his parts stash. Saw this couple months ago so don't remember everything.

My goal used to be NOT getting a ticket on the way to work. The Vespa might be a way to TRY.
Scooters remind me of the joke…..they are fun but like fat ladies….you didn’t want your buddies to see you with one…..

Going to need some of those parts!

Engine is no longer stuck! It has compression and spark. I think soaking the cylinder with Kroil did a lot.
The gas tank is grimy and gunked on the bottom but at least not rusty. Next, got to clean the tank, the carburetor and the fuel line.
Who knows, it might run.
Already I saw some performance top end kits online to upgrade from 150cc to 177. Because stock sucks:D.

Removed the fuel tank and cleaned all the gunk out. Ordered and installed a new fuel tap (on-off-reserve). Took the carburetor apart and cleaned all the junk out of it. Got a rebuild-gasket kit for the carburetor and a new fuel line. The fuel valve, line and fittings were packed solid with whatever gas turns into when left to sit for years. Going to put the carb and tank together tomorrow and see if it will start. Fingers crossed.
