Virtual painting

Would I try it?.....yes, just so I could go over to that group of guys watching me so I could spray paint them :)
 
The reality is many manufacturers of manual spraying equipment and especially now semi-automatic welding equipment have to have fun "video game" play simulators to entice the under 30 year olds to even think showing an interest in such things. It's a marketing response to what their customers describe as an unwillingness of many able bodied young men and women to do or even pursue paid work regarded as an "unglamourous occupation".

I hate to say it but, your assessment is pretty spot on. What a shame it is (insert sad face here)
 
The two replies above look encouraging but, they are one in a million in the big picture. I hope both of those gals learn, stick with it, be proud of what they accomplish, and most of all, enjoy what they are doing. It's going to be a hard road seeing as they are in a male dominated profession.

I was impressed with how well the gal handled using a cut off wheel. Much better than I can. that tool intimidates me after having two accidents tearing up my body parts.
