Gonna do two bumpers and fender in Kia R4R red. Would a quart be enough of Wanda if I use a ground coat? I could do a final coat of my Standox if needed.

Quote was $146 for the QT.

According to Motobase it is a 3 stage paint color.

The undercoat shows as U114 Grey.

Interesting. I forget, but, I think Standox had a 2 and 3 stage. The vindicator system chose the 2 stage.

Got 48oz RTS. It's a couple of shades darker and the flake isn't quite the same. But, I'll do a blend coat with my Standox and all should be good. That RTS was $173.

So, here's what they sent. On this much of a mismatch should I be able to get a refund? I'm kinda concerned that it will take several coats of my Standox to cover the darker shade.

Wow, I can pull left over base off the shelf for a match like that. Sorry that stinks. Is it a local store? Will they tint it?

The only variant is darker. Homie don't need that! So, I've got my local jobber going to camera it in Lesonal and they're doing me a solid deal on that.

If you have a good relationship with whomever you got it from they might take it back. Lot of jobbers say once they mix it, it yours. IDK. Hopefully you can get something back. Store credit would be better than nothing. That's not even close. Hopefully you can get it sorted with the Lesonal.

I like to give them a part to look at. That way it's easier to pin on them if it's that far off. Cheap toners typically can't quite achieve the clean vibrance of many of the newer colors, though, if they did they would never cover. Even Standox solvent struggles with some of the new really clean saturated colors. All the money is going into water.

They're an hour away and I didn't have a chance to show them the gas cap. I could have sent a picture.

Wow, I'm in the sticks but my jobber is 'only' half an hour away. I don't know what I would do in that case. Probably not have them making me paint sight unseen though.

I get the pressure to save money. Some clowns think they can have work done for less than my material cost. I'd rather sweep the floor than lose money on a job though.

Damn, I thought I was off the trail. I can’t imagine driving an hour to my jobber. At least you got a good jobber hooking you up. Customer service is huge. I’ll pay more for the same product for good customer service.

You city folk have it good. My Motobase Jobber is in Martinsville VA (Roosters) which is like an hour and 15 minutes if I really fly. One and a half if I get behind traffic. Nearly all back roads as well. I'll drive to save the money though. And I trust them to mix the exact formula. Not just "close enough ".

I use pre mixed paint at work. I have the jobber come and scan the car to try to get the closest variant. Sometimes it's not close enough. When we were using axalta solvent color match was a battle on every car. Scans were not close. Cheaper solvent is worse. Now we went waterborne its not as bad.

Akzo nobel has a phone ap so you can look up the paint code and see the variants and formulas called Mixit. Can look up all their paint lines.

right? thats why i like spi. i just wish there were more single stage colors.

Standox has a VIN check system. It works fairly well. I don't have a mixing bank and wanted to try Wanda. I'd heard how well it matched and rolled the dice. Anyway, I'm getting the Lesonal for free.

Does Wanda fall under that app?
