Wash/Clean wait times

After block sanding and give the car or part your are going to paint a bath with dawn detergent and rinse really well how long would you wait before the SPI W/G remover ? I usually have the part outside so it would be drying in the sun. Do you just wait till it appears dry or do you have to give it a little longer?
As always thanks for info.
Dave

Hit it with compressed air then a final clean with waterborne wax and grease remover + 30 minutes and it'll be fine, JMO

After washing with Dawn and rinsing, there's no need for
wax & grease remover.
Dawn works better, you're going backwards to use
W&G afterwards.
If you have to use it, use it first.

Do you still have to use the solvent base cleaner before painting and after washing with dawn? If so is there a wait time for the solvent base cleaner because it doesn't say on the container. Thanks Dave

It's your choice, you don't need the dawn bath. I don't do a dawn wash before I paint but there's nothing wrong with it-the only downside is the delay it creates making sure it's completely dry so you're not blowing water out of seams etc.. If collision shop's had to waterwash every job they'd be way behind schedule.

Wipe your solvent cleaner off the best you can-you'll see any remaining evaporate off and disappear soon after and by the time you dust it and all the crevices once again with compressed air and go over it with a tack rag there is no worry about any remaining solvent.

I understand what you are saying. I am a retired Maintenance machinist Trying to learn to paint with my own car that I am restoring. Time is no big deal to me and I usually have the parts or car out side anyway wet sanding and while its outside I usually go ahead and wash it while it there. Never used the wash chemicals before and that's why I was wondering about the wait time before spraying. The W/G waterborne says wait 30 t0 60 min but the solvent base doesn't really say. Now I understand .
Thanks Dave
