What’s the best spray cup system to prevent drips in the paint?

I’m shooting epoxy primer at this stage but the cheap disposable cups and vented lid are hard to keep drips off the paint surface. I read somewhere that there are liner cup systems which prevent leaks but frankly am more confused trying to determine what to use. I have some cheap tcp guns for primer and epoxy and a new iwata w-400 for base/clear work If that makes a difference. Any thoughts?

I'm using the 3M pps2 system. It's simple to use with no mess or drips, but it is a bit on the expensive side. Main reason I'm using it is that's my hpl400 came with it.

I’ve seen a few systems and the 3m system looks slick. What I can’t figure out is how the paint cup is vented? The other system uses a bag liner so that one is a no brainer but I really like how the 3m system os designed.

Harbor Freight sells a knock-off of the legacy (discontinued) 3M PPS 1.0 system. I haven't tried the HF liners as I'm still working through my stash of 3M liners. I'll give it a go when I run out because I'm too cheap to buy new adapters for the PPS 2.0.

Its not vented. The liner cup is somewhat flexible and collapses down as you paint. It allows you to be able to paint in any position.

For my epoxy gun I just splash about 2 ounce of thinner in and swish it then dump it, then clean the gun. 5 gallon of lacquer thinner is 34 dollars at the paint supply, as a walk in customer. I guess it's cheaper if you have an account. Just my 2 cents

For years I used the Devilbiss disposable cup liners (about $1.20 each). They’re used with your existing cup. Easy to use and also will let you spray with the gun completely upside down. Clean up super easy and takes very little solvents to clean gun.
That said I started using the Devilbiss DeKups about 7 years ago. Love those. The advantage over the liners is I keep one DeKup with reducer in it to flush gun between coats simply by switching the quick attach cup. I have that DeKup setup for my base and clear guns only. As they’re somewhat expensive like the 3M PPS system is.
Harbor Freight came out with the above mentioned DeKup style system a few years? ago. They’re very inexpensive and work well. I use these on my primer guns only.
All of these allow gun to be upside down and they do not leak as they’re not vented. The DeKups, 3M and HF systems also let you store paints in them (they have a cap that seals the container) for a few hours or days depending on potlife.

I've been using dekups for about 10 years now. The system works, but I hate the paint buildup on the lids and locking area.

I understand that the pps 1.0 is available from new companies, but I have heard some stories about the quality that just keep me using dekups.

Can the 3M pps 2.0 liner spray upside down if prepped like the dekups as shown in that video posted above?

Any specific reason why some of you chose dekups over pps? Or was it just one of those it’s what I started with and stuck with it kinda deals?

No preference here of one over the other. When I got my lph400 it came with the pps system so thats what I have.
