what do I do next

I sanded down my old enamel with 220 grit and fixed some small areas with filler. there are no bare metal panels showing. before the care was painted with enamel it did have 2 coat of epoxy sprayed on it in 2004. I am going to paint it this time base coat/clear coat.
What primer should i use, then do i need to seal it if I sand it down to 600 with no problems? I would like to stay away from the epoxy if possible-it just stinks to much.

then how long do I have to wait before i sand it? then is it necesary to seal with epoxy before i spray? or can i seal with uerathane?
thanks

I don't know what epoxy you are using and maybe my nose is desensitised but I find no objective odor to SPI epoxy. Matter of fact very little odor at all when spraying it.

seal the enamel down with epoxy. little primer to surface then seal coat epoxy reduced then paint.

I would suggest good cure time in the sun after the epoxy is applied to the aged finish. Solvent from the epoxy (or ANY solvent-based coating) can be absorbed by the old paint and get trapped under the curing epoxy if you don't allow plenty of cure time plus some heat.
