what to use on rubber camaro bumpers

had a guy call me yesterday asking what to use on a set of bumper covers that he stripped on a 91 Camaro. first thought was epoxy, but thought I would ask here as I try to avoid bumper covers as much as possible:disturbed: i'm assuming that they are the original covers on the car & not aftermarket if that makes any difference.

If they are yellow, they are urethane. Epoxy is great for those with no adhesion promoter needed. I remember the mid 80's as being urethane, but they may have changed them at some point by '91. I don't think so, though. I think that body style had all urethane bumpers.

o.k. some more info today. they aren't yellow, but are gray. looks like they are oem bumpers . i'll attach a pic of the info molded into the bumper if anyone can cipher what it means.

how did he strip the covers?

bob, i'm not sure what he did. i'm "assuming" that he stripped with a D.A. i'm getting most of this info secondhand from his uncle who is a good customer(& friend) of mine. I did recommend that he wash them really good with soap/water to remove any oils that might have bled out before spraying anything on them.
