I dont know the numbers but me personally is water borne on bare metal. And solvent on everything else.
I need to figure out an easy way to remember the numbers lol700 is the waterborne (for bare metal)
710 is what I use for everything else
Waterborne is better at cleaning silicones and other contaminants than solvent. That being said there is nothing wrong with using solvent only. I only used solvent for years. Just be sure to wipe correctly, wet the surface completely then wipe off.Is there an issue using the solvent base on bare metal or is the water base just prefered? I ran out of 700 and won't have it for 2 more days so I used the 710 on the door I epoxied yesterday, just wondering if I should continue. I didn't read anything that says don't do it.
700 will be perfect.Reblocked my epoxy with Black diamond blocks and have a few minor lows that the Durablock didn't show and almost out of solvent base cleaner. I have plenty of 700. Should i just scuff and blow it off for filler, use the 700 or wait till i get more 710 ?
Wow. Good to know about the silicone issue.Waterborne is better at cleaning silicones and other contaminants than solvent. That being said there is nothing wrong with using solvent only. I only used solvent for years. Just be sure to wipe correctly, wet the surface completely then wipe off.
That's according to the man (Barry) himself.Wow. Good to know about the silicone issue.
I had the 700 remove paint before so I don't want to risk it.For final paint do 700 first, followed up with 710. Priming stages/bare metal I just use 700. Multiple rounds usually.
Like over basecoat? you should only use solvent over basecoat.I had the 700 remove paint before so I don't want to risk it.
Thanks Chris700 will be perfect.
