Which Sata spray gun to Use?

Hello guys,
I have two unused in the box Sata spray guns, one of them is a 2000 RP and the other is a 4000 RP both of them have 1.3 caps and needles. Which one would be the best for applying a base coat and which one for a clear coat? I believe I need a 1.4 cap for the clear coat. I just don’t know which gun to buy the 1.4 cap for. Or, in your opinion do I need two different guns? If not, which one would you keep and which cap would you use? I could use just one gun and interchange the cap and needle. I will be using Pro Spray base coat and Universal clear coat.
Thanks,
Don

If you don't wet the floor both of them will spray the universal with the 1.3.
If I was going to buy a 1.4 it would be for the 4000.

Sorry for the noob question, what does wetting the floor have to do with the gun spraying the universal with the 1.3 tip?

I have a Sata 4000 that I use just for clear coat. I have a 1.3 tip and it sprays universal great. I have an Iwata lph 400 with a 1.3 that also sprays universal great. I have a Sata 3000 hvlp 1.3 that also sprays the clear great. I truly think that it comes down to having a professional gun of your choice, and becoming familiar with that gun. You will learn to dial-in your gun as you continue to practice with it. I think the floor wetting would increase the moisture in the air, and have an effect in spraying your clear. Although I have wet the floor in my place, and never had any issues. My biggest concern with wetting the floor is the air hose whipping moisture onto the car, you have to be careful. I think if you live in a very warm climate (southern states) then wetting the floor could cause more of an issue(too much moisture in the air) then it does where I am in New England.
