white epoxy harder to spray?

I have been using the white epoxy and everytime i have sprayed it after exhaustingly cleaned panels and overnight induction, i still get very tiny pits in the paint. not fish eyes but dimples sort to speak. after doing a car in SPI black, i used the black epoxy and have absolutel no problems with dimpling or fisheyes. the black went on flawlessly. is the white epoxy just more sensitive than the others?

Here's my take after spraying the white epoxy on my horse trailer. The white doesn't cover as well so the tendency is to lay it on heavier which produces what you are seeing.
I could be way off base in my analysis but it was the only reason I could think of for experiencing the exact same problem you are describing.
Hopefully someone with real answers will help us out.

I think both of you are right with your ideas.

Bottom line on the white, I have found over the years to make it lay bullet proof and not have to think twice about it, is use about 5lbs more air pressure then you would with the gray or black or red.
I actually believe that with right gun adjustment, proper or adjusted air pressure for the white, it lays out even better then the gray or black once it has dried.

White is also the hardest color to see while spraying, so defects in application will be more common.

Yes definitely is very hard to see. I have my gun dialed in perfectly thanks to Barry 99% clean dry air. It's not really a problem to me as I will bd lightly sanding it to apply 2k. this is just an observation to see if technically there are any differences

sorry meant to say

my gun was dialed in thanks to Barry, i also have 99% clean air

No doubt about it being hard to see. I had to get to the place where I just trusted my standard spraying technique and didn't worry about coverage. Agree with Barry on upping the pressure some too since that is exactly what I did about half way through the first panel.

I just bid on painting a Dodge Extended Van for a church and its white - what was I thinking?

I can agree that it feels heavier. Two and a half turns out on the fluid control and it felt like I had to open it up even more lol
