Exactly. It was what I have used on a few projects now and am using on the 1969 Chevy C10 in the Restorations Forum.I have been using Motobase on completes and really like it. Covers very well and lays pretty flat.
Yes ppg is quite expensive good product but not cheap.For the price/performance, I dont think you can beat Motobase... I like dbc, but I hate refinancing my house every time I need a pint of something!

Sorry but I've seen your work, so don't matter you it it at home, a pro is a pro.experienced professionals and then me . I dont fall in that group but all I have use is SPI and Motobase.
Yes, higher polyol like Spies, Standox, Debeers and SPINow is motobase a thicker base not a piss thin basecoat in a can.
