1969 Mustang Mach 1

they do, if they arent going back factory. especially when hand them the color book with thousands of colors!! i usually tell them to just go to every dealership in town and look at different colors of them on the lot. Owner of the 68 roadrunner i did was that way, i did about 10 different spray outs of old mopar colors..he turned everyone of them down and i told him to go to the dealership and he fell in love with the burnt orange on the dodge nitros.

i still dont know what color i want to paint my dart..and probably wont till its in the booth ready for color

That's the same thing Chad told me about picking colors and it's good advice. I asked him which color he used on the 67 chevy p u on his site,I think he said it was viper blue and it looks really good. A few months back I was at a car show and saw a 72 Dodge Challenger that looked nice so I asked the owner what color it was and he said it was Viper blue. If I had to pick a color today that would be it. Unfortunately I am a long way from being ready to paint so I may Change my mind again,,,who knows.

Dont know if anyone has used it, but i'm using the transtar super kut comopound on this. finished out with 2,500 then the super kut on a white wool pad. it reminds me of the OLD 3m extra cut of years ago. between that and the universal clear...buffing incredibly easy at low speed on the makita.

thats lookin so slick, good job!! Are you finishing 2500 da or by hand?

UV clear looks perfecto, your body work looks very well blocked!! Very nice!

thanks guys. i wish they could all be this nice....we are only as good as our customers!

That looks outstanding Jeremy!! Do you find it produces a better, flatter finish when all done by hand for the final cut and buff? How low of a grit do you start with? Im just curious bro.. Your process works for sure!!!!

IMO 3000 is the only one worth using with a da. i start blocking with 800 all the way up to 1200. the rest up to 2500 is by hand with one of those soft spongy pads as a cushion. Just have more controll around edges and curves by hand. if i had some 3000 on hand i definately would do hoods and roofs with it as i normally do.

I've tried the DA on a few cars and isn't really any quicker and not any better finish. you end up having to do a lot by hand anyway when it comes to edges and curves and small parts.

Thanks Jeremyb, I find cutting by hand is a much nicer finish if you want a glass finish but I find it takes more time but I have not done tons of polishing. Anyways awesome job!!!
