Auto Rod Tech's Project Thread
Chad, is that fuel tank filler neck pointing at the tailgate? Are you planning a raised bed or some sort of bed cover?
Yes, it is fairly close to the tailgate, and we have a wood floor for the truck, you have to open the gate to fill it up.

Thanks guys,, I'll be glad to free up a spot, this one has been here for a while. I forgot the name of the color, tropic turquoise or something like that.
Hopefully chrome gets finished up soon so we can install the chrome stuff and then send out to the interior shop.

Looks really nice Chad, it was along haul on that one eh? And it's going to look good 30-40 years from now with SPI and the way you do things!

Beautiful job. What color is it? really nice.
That is GM code WA3495, Marina Turquoise/Tropic Turquoise. It was an original color for the 1966 Lemans.

Chad, are you going to have that dipped in primer when it's all welded?
No, I am going to epoxy it, but I took the quarters, rockers rear panels and basically everything else off so that way I will have access to spray everything.
then I will epoxy the back sides of the quarter panels as well before I install.. You still have the worry of rust at the spot welds but i don't know any way around that one.
I guess you could dip after welding but it's something I have never done nor would I even know where to begin.
