CeraKote or ..........

The Cerakote air dry might work. They claim 1700 degrees. I have used the air dry but yet to try it on exhaust. I plan to try it on Harley pipes at some point. Their oven cure (w/hardener) is stronger but way lower on heat tolerance. Very good firearm finish.
The instructions have to be followed to a tee. Very clean, and blasted with100-120 grit aluminum oxide, The blast profile is important, 80 grit is too rough and glass beads not enough tooth. Also it must air dry for one week minimum before putting to use.

Old school chopper fix for keeping new headers from turning blue was to pack the pipes with bearing grease & fire er up and let it smoke till it carbon coated the pipes. Yep, carbon is an insulator.
Of course this was the early 70's , before oxygen sensors & convertors.
