dynabrade buffer 49440

hmmm, i kind of need a right angle one that spins the pad horizontally BUT that may work. im not sure. ill have to look into it next time i am at viking to see how that would work out. it certainly is a cheaper route to go. i love dynabrade and everything but they are a little too proud of that buffer.

shine, yeah die grinders are hard to control with a buffing pad because they arent geared down and dont have hardly any torque. here is a link for my other mini buffer. expensive as well but it has been one of the best tools i have ever bought. ive had it probably 12 years now and use it almost every day. you can put quite a bit of pressure on it and it will keep spinning at a steady speed. ive tried quite a few mini buffers over the years and this one is hands down the best one made. it will give years of trouble free use....if you can stomach the price tag. lol

i do my damnest to make sure i don have to attack any hard to get to places .
a foot pedal makes die grinders a little better, easier to adjust the speed . but jim's right they have very little torque since they are air .

well it looks nice but definately wont work for what i need it for. its waaay to big. i only have 1 3/4" of height clearance whic is why that dynabrade is on my radar. the end is so tiny. smallest i have ever found but i still dont know if it will squeeze in the area. i emailed dynabrade for the measurement but of course i have heard nothing. it looks like it will work but hard to be certain. i dont mind spending the cash on a good tool and i will use it regularly but just wanted to be sure before i ordered the thing. they have another one thats only 300 bucks but i think the end is too big.

I saw a video and the person was holding the little chrome head and it was only as wide as their thumb so about 3/4”. Then you have to the bottom of the plastic backing plate and maybe another 3/8 for a wool pad

Hmm at first it looked really big but i watched the video and a couple angles of it looked like a maybe. Its so hard to tell

Jim, Dynabrade site shows the head of that 49440 buffer to be 2.6 inches high so probably taller when you add the pad.

I think thats from the bottom of the foam pad to the top of the released handle. The head is definitely not that big. It was clearly nowhere near their spec in the video with someone holding it. I dont care about the body. I will remive the foam pad also. I just need from the bottom if the plastic backup pad the the top if the head itself.

@Bob Heine yes i saw that one. Thats a ton cheaper and what i was hoping would work but its going to be too big. That one is larger than the blue one and if that one is 1.9” then the blue one may work. Whats going to happen is im going to have to order this thing from somewhere that has easy returns and if it doesnt fit then ill have to send it right back
