Epoxy didn't stick

I think ordering the 700 is a great move! I assumed in your first post that the 700 is what you used.

Honestly I didn't think that a waterborne W&G remover could do such a good job on bare metal, but the 700 gets it cleaner than anything I have ever used. We will not prime bare metal without it!

Just an update... I went out to the garage early this morning before work and started sanding away. The epoxy is stuck on my quarters like a blood-thirsty tick! I can now start making progress again.

I just wanted to say thanks to Barry and everyone else who chimed in for their ideas and input. I have learned quite a bit from this little ordeal. I'm sure I'll be back with some more questions soon...

With SPI I have found a product line that I use everything minus the base color and poly primers(when needed). I flat out refuse to use anything else. from cleaners to clears. this is it.

I assumed that by the time I got the epoxy in the gun and got it sprayed there would be a dramitic decrease in the temp so I wanted to play it safe.

The cleaner I used the first time was made by Transtar. What I used yesterday was basically acetone. The last time I used a solvent based cleaner was years ago. I think it was made by Klean Strip - it was in a blue/green bottle at Autozone. Couldn't find any of that - acetone was all I could find over the weekend.

Whatever I did, it seems to have worked so far. This morning I tried blocking a small area with 80 grit and the epoxy was pretty hard and seemed to be stuck well. I sanded until I hit metal in several spots and it never gave any hint at coming loose. I already ordered some 700 this morning. I got my roof stripped so I will try it next with the 700.
I will never use the kleen strip again. yuck!!!

i have run toilet paper filters in my booths for years. if anything makes it to the booth they will catch it . if oil were to make it that far the paper turns yellow.
but something else is going on here. too much coming off to be contaminate and not enough fisheyes.

Shine, what do mean by toilet paper filters? Are these inline filters for your airlines?

MotorGuard M60 filters look like toilet paper rolls and some actually use toilet paper instead. Not sure if a particular brand, single ply or double ply makes a difference.
