I primed my engine compartment with spi epoxy 3 months ago. I'm using epoxy as a final finish. A week ago, I spot sprayed some spi epoxy on a couple of spots that I bondo-ed. In the process, I got some epoxy overspray on a few small areas. I used a clay bar on the overspray and got most of it off. On one very small area, where I used the clay bar to remove the overspray, which it did, it left the surface with a white-ish haze. I tried buffing the haze off with a piece of terrycloth, but no luck. Then I tried a little rubbing compound on it, with the same result. Finally, I tried to very gently sand the surface with1000-2000 grit sandpaper. Finally, the white haze was gone, but the surface was left, a flat dull black. I tried buffing the surface with a piece of terrycloth to get a little gloss on it, but no luck. I'd like to get a low gloss on this surface so that it matches the rest of the epoxy on the engine compartment. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks for your help.
