Okay gotcha.. so I need to reapply 2 coats and then I can put down my base coatJust to be clear what the manual is saying. When it's out of the re-coat window then it is best practice (i.e. required) to sand with 180 then apply two more coats of epoxy over the initial epoxy before applying any other topcoat. The reason for this is because cured epoxy is so solvent resistant the subsequent topcoats get no "bite" from the solvent in them and adhesion can be an issue.
That's without sanding, with sanding you get 7 days, though sooner is better imo.Yeah, when reading the TDS it says that I have a 24 hour window to spray basecoat over the epoxy without having to prime it or spray another coat of epoxy, but I just called SBI and they told me that I am still fine since I did not reduce my epoxy
Okay its been 3 days I am going to sand down with 600 then spray baseThat's without sanding, with sanding you get 7 days, though sooner is better imo.
That's what I used to do anyways. The benefit was it removed any peel and trash.Okay its been 3 days I am going to sand down with 600 then spray base
