Evercoat Plastic Honey

Anyone use this? I've been playing around with this using an older can of Evercoat Rage Ultra in this colder weather and it really seems to aid in application. Also noticed that it reduces pinholes. Wondering if it takes away from any of the properties of the filler???

It is just a polyester resin, if used in small amounts if works fine. If you use too much it will not be as strong as the filler as it will be slightly more brittle, but in most filler applications that is of little concern. Most fillers are polyester resin with talc or some other synthetic fillers to thicken them up.

I'm probably completely wrong for this, but, if I need filler thinner, I'll add some glazing putty.

Been there, done that.

Evercoat does not endorse or recommend using Plastik Honey in Evercoat Ultra, or Evercoat Ultra Extra.

I had this conversation with them about two years ago.

The trick is to not use too much. It really doesn't take a lot since the majority of the time I'm only mixing what fits on my Clean Sheets mixing board. Plus I only use the honey for the final skim coat.

I use the 3M Platinum 01171 filler.
