I'm contemplating a hack and have been too afraid to even ask

Completely off topic, but during my recent youtube "rabbit hole" journeys, I found this channel. It is full of information that I will never use, but I am fascinated! I never knew this type of welding existed.

Eutectic Castolin makes a very good line of products that can make effective repairs on “ hard to weld” materials.

I used hard facing on shoes for helicopters, and did freeze crack repair on inboard boat engines and exhaust manifolds with their products.
I considered it expensive at $125 a pound….but compared to $1200-$1500 for a manifold I guess it’s cheap.
I never had a complaint with those repairs.
The hard facing made the blades on a brush hog last through everything except rocks.
Hopefully this wasn’t too much of a tangent.
My apologies to Litzer.

I've used an mini air chisel to hammer out a large crease in a tailgate and it worked good. There was also some good reading on using a palm nailer as a planishing hammer over at All Metal Shaping.
