I just did a correction like this yesterday after Barry talked me out of shooting more clear. I was worried about cutting through because I only had 6-7 mils of total material. Start with 2000 if you have it to flatten then work up. I didnt have 2000 so I did assilex 1500 dry so I could see when it was cut flat then moved to 2500 wet and it flattened it out removing minimal material. I only took off .1-.2 mils to get it flat.

Thanks guys. It showed up on my last layer of clear (4th layer). So I should be able to apply the sanding methods above and get it to smooth out.

If you have 3 layers of clear under it, be careful, but flatten it with 1500 grit paper while staying off the edges, then shoot more clear. It shouldn't be a problem.

Yup I’ve done it that way with success before but I would like to try it with cut and buff first. I have 4 layers btw.

It will cut away readily. It’s likely you got some overspray on there from spraying an adjacent area and still have plenty of mil there. I’d rather cut a dry section like that than peel.

Ya, if thats on your last coat then itll be fine and sand and polish right out. I get that type of stuff all the time on jobs I know I am going to cut down and polish out. I will go over all of the jambs last and wet them out real good and the overspray never melts in.
