So close yet so far

I struggle to know when I’m close enough for final epoxy. How would you finish this? I keep fooling myself that I can fill it with epoxy.. A coat of 2k? Icing glaze?

I usually put on my white cotton glove and see if I could feel any difference
wiping that area, if so, I'd use the spot putty over the entire area and block it
with a coarse grit.
If I can't feel a surface to be irregular with my glove, 2K
primer will usually take care of it.

I use poly primer until it’s dead straight with guide coat and long blocks. Epoxy and 2k I use to refine scratches from poly.

Yea I blew it with the poly. It needed more coats. I thought It was better than it was. Don’t do this enough to have that feel. I just didn’t want it to have to take that much to get it straight

Its gonna take what it takes. are these spots everywhere? You could always block it all with 180, do another coat of epoxy and then 3 more coats of poly and then go for it again. Its not too late.

I've been in your shoes plenty of times. It is what it is and there are only a few solutions to the problem. Being it was your first time using poly I can understand you probably didn't smash it on.

None of the solutions are easy, and I'd hate to see you block the whole thing out again only to keep finding lows.

I'm with jcclark on this one. Very hard to tell how deep the low spots are by looking at the pictures. My guess is that 3 coats of 2k build primer, guide coat and block sanding should handle it.
