looking for a new brand of tape. any suggestions ? i refuse to buy another roll of that shitty green 3m .
 
Been using the 3m yellow tape for a while now. A sleeve of 6 costs 21 bucks.

I've used some American tape in the past...their biege colored. Was pretty good...I believe they have come out with some other types now. I've been happy with the 3m yellow.
 
nobody stocks anything but that green crap around here.. like trying to tear rubber. guess i will have to order tape by mail too. but then around hear shrink and wrinkle is considered high end.
 
In order of preference. American Tape PG-27, 3M yellow, hystik purple.
 
Been using the 3m highland tape and real happy with it. Also used the 3m yellow but I think it doesn't seem to stick as well as the highland. The 3m highland is priced between the green and the yellow. Joe
 
It used to be use the blue, then it was green, now it is yellow, whats next ?
 
blue is for house paint or protection when buffing. the green just tears like shit. i have enough aggravation without that.
 
I didn't like the yellow because it would cast a reflection. I used a lot of paint trying to cover those reflections. Now I use the American.
 
I really liked the highland tape as well, as stated before the yellow does seem to not stick as well as others but i really like it when im doing grafix n such.....and i have seen it cast a reflection also....try the highland tape
 
The green is environmentally friendly I was told. It seems a lot thicker and more expensive but I didn't have any problems when using it.
 
i've been rippin tape for a lot of years and this green crap is like working with a rubber band. it's not the cost it's the aggravation.
 
I get pissed at myself every time I tape,with the older tan 3m I use to just pop that stuff and Could mask a car in no time.I kept thinking this old boy just aint got it anymore. And that may be true,but good to hear I am not the only one with tape problems.
 
i like the green for the fact that it comes in 1/2 , 1/4 n 1/8 does any one know if the yellow comes in those sizes?
 
i've got 4 rolls left. after that there will be no more green crap in my shop. i have a call into one of my old suppliers. i'll make the drive to get decent tape.
