1966 Valiant for the Other Daughter....

So what do you do when it’s too cold to paint epoxy? You create more parts that need to be painted with epoxy...

In door project today! Turned the kitchen into the upholstery shop.. Glad the wife is not feeling good and I got it all cleaned up before she came out to the kitchen! Pulled apart the original Arizona sun toasted '66/'67 bucket seats I picked up... the value here are the adjusters as they are a 2 year only item... I FINALLY understand what the a web of fine wires is for! They are (were) intertwined with the burlap to hold it in place! These are too far gone to want to spend an entire weekend blasting with my setup... I dropped them off at a power coating place to blast them with serious blaster... at $100/hour having them blast all the parts could have gotten out of hand quickly!

I like how you shift gears from slick sand and paint sticks to upholstery without missing a beat. You truly are a renaissance man!

It is a hollywood trick... notice the backs of those seats? The last batch of slick sand I mix will go on the back of these seats to fill the rust pitting! There is a method to my madness.. . it is all about project management not really about the work!

Looking good Jim! You manage your time well. Smart of you to order the interior cover back when you did, that’s a long lead time!

You really need that fine wire and burlap to keep the foam from pushing through the springs, and that 4dr parts car bench seat will have them also. They are spring steel and can be cut to the length you need.
I bought a roll of zig zag spring then cut and bent them to fit my seat, and also used a length of the same spring to tie the others together.
