Agreed. DA all the way on something like that.
I DA'ed then guide coated then 180 blocked. SoIshould be ready for prime right? Looks like I am going to end up using the Nason XL primer and paints. They are budget friendly and locally obtainable. Looks like I can rent a 20 gal 13 SCFM compressor when I need it.

I'm curious, what's the cost of a gallon Nason epoxy primer and activator?

i agree. i can order spi for less than almost any thing i can get local. and it will be better quality.
I understood it is best not to mix branded products so wanted to stay with one brand. Plus I have four colors that have to color matched so getting paint local is best for me.

My shop if you ask for recommendations typically won’t recommend Nason primers or clear with Nason base coat. The SPI epoxy I just got sprayed better than anything I’ve gotten from them. So just my .02 cents but I’d prob use SPI at least for epoxy and prob try their clears and use Nason bc for color match…although if they sell Nason they probably sell the chromabase I think it’s called. Also in my experience that normally color matches a little better.

Nason is low quality. You will use more and it won't last near as long as using a quality product. I don't know what your plans are with the RV. If you plan to sell it after you finish then Nason would be OK. If you plan to keep it, use better quality products. For the price of Nason you can get Motocryl or Motobase(Automotive Arts). For the price of Nason primers you can get SPI which is as good as there is. Both the Motocryl and SPI products can be delivered to your door. Your are not saving money if you use Nason. Trust me on that.

Trying to do that RV with a compressor like that will be a nightmare. Especially if you do not have properly run lines and filtration. You will have massive water/water vapor issues. You should reexamine your plan or it will end up biting you rather hard. A minimum true 5hp compressor with properly run lines and filtration will be the minimum required to do a job like you are planning.

I wish you all the best with this Sir, but I really feel you are in way over your head being a complete novice and refinishing a four color RV. Take some time to read up on the forum here. It's the best education you can get. There is no bad info here as many of us are Pros and bad info gets called out and corrected rather quickly. Take what most paint jobbers tell you with a grain of salt as they don't usually have any experience using the products they sell. You are really like a babe in the woods and you need to gain some knowledge before you tackle something like your RV.
Again best of luck to you. Hope it all works out for you.

JZ you will find these guys speak english, not paint speak. if you ask them straight questions they generally give straight answers. best paint site i have found. i dont like to mix brands either but i am learning its more about whats in the product than who made it.

The RV is a 2007 and I plan on keeping it no longer than 5 years. We live and trvel in this RV fulltime. I know about learning curves and yes this is a steep one. I have read tons of stuff and watched countless hours of video oncar painting dos and donts. I have no intention of making this paintjob show room quality. My goal is simply to make itlook nice. The 8 HP commercial grade compressor I will be renting should be sufficient for this job from everything I have read. I will purchase in line moisture/solvent filters and new hoses. I have read the SPI Manual. Iam here to tap the wisdom of those of you who have climbed this learning curve before. I am not painting in a paint room, I do not have a garage to store tools I buy to do this job. This will not be a professional job as I understand my limitations. I do appreciate those trying to help better understand the process. Telling me I'm in over my head or I will fail is not helpful.
