I can't imagine trying to spray that color ShopLine base over white sealer. Medium dark gray sealer would have saved that trip for another quart.
Actually, it would have covered the red pretty well. Think light and dark more than actual color.I don't think the red and green would have gotten along very well.
Thanks. Hopefully it will be able to hang in till Sunday. I'm going to try to pick up the infra-red lamp this evening. I can start on it Saturday but will have to leave fairly early. It's supposed to be warm and sunny on Sunday, so I will definitely put it outside then. It's going to be cloudy and cold all day today. If you dont have lamps put the car in the sun today longer; the excess solvents remain, the bigger the chance of breaking adhesion forever.
I can't remember if I ended up with 4 or 5 coats. My first coat was a very light tack coat that really didn't cover anything.Just wanted to add that my buddy painted his 53 belair with a green color very similar to that, in a shopline and he told me it took 5 coats to cover, and it also involved a last minute trip for another quart.
I figured I would end up with a metallic black color or some kind of brown.Actually, it would have covered the red pretty well. Think light and dark more than actual color.
