Ohhh fun!! Just a heads up - They didn't call her a unicorn for nothing ;) I think you were directing your comment towards Rusty but If you do end up building it I can tell you about a great place with great info on building these cars.

I keep forgetting to post up dates.

Suspension going back together

Getting ready to test fit the engine

We thought everything was going great until we found out the rack doesn't fit. I found out it has a 9 qt Canton race pan for a fox body.

Note to self: Canton oil pan welds look like some kid in Ag shop did them with a coat hanger .

I hope this was modified by someone other than Canton because I have an FE Canton pan and it looks nothing like this. The engine was bought from Mark Houlahan the tech editor at Mustang Monthly & Modified Mustangs & Fords and only has dyno time on it.

I've used canton pans and they did not have welds like that. Looks to me like someone modified it. Are you switching to a rear sump pan?

I go by the Canton facility often. They often have a "welders wanted" sign out front!
IMO that may indicate the pay isn't great.

We have tried 3 different oil pans and they won't clear the rack. This is the last attempt it will fit this time.

We have decided to modify the motor mount on the block. Brian cut off the old plates and made new ones

It's close but it clears the rack

The engine had to be raised about a 1/2" and forward about 1/4".
