They didn't put the front fender on because there is a slight issue with the air ride that they just didn't have time to fix.

I just knew OJ was a diamond in the rough, a cocoon ready to open and spread it wings.

The world is yours you beautiful butterfly........fly little butterfly, fly :p

to be 100% I am sure all the detailed powder coating helped that bike get recognized more than the paintwork.

I agree, all of the coatings combined are what won the award, however......... that squiggly line above he head light makes me wonder how it was painted. Let me rephrase that, how it was laid out?

One thing is for sure, an award like that sure is good for your business ;)

Honestly. I just searched the interwebs until I found a design I kinda liked, then modified it until I was happy with it. I cut out some trial pieces and laid them out to make sure I liked the design and then cut out negatives when it was ready to spray that particular color. It wasn't the easiest thing to lay out, but was terrible either if that make any sense.

Been absorbing your process for the last couple of days. I would like to add a lower stripe / graphic on the fender/door/quarter panel but, wasn't sure how to go about it. You've given me something to try out that I could practice with on a mock up panel. I don't know why working with paint freaks me out so much. Guess a large part of it is just not knowing processes, procedures.

Thanks for the detail explanation above.

Did you get to see it in person? I was honestly nervous any members on here would see it in person. There were some pretty nice bikes there. I appreciate the compliments.

I haven't been to autorama in about 7 years. if I go again I gotta find out how I can walk around without a bajillion people there.

Ok, here we go. Got some of the carbon parts painted over the weekend. Still need to sand and re-clear the wing and rear vents again. Tons of pinholes. Nature of the beast sometimes depending on how the carbon parts were manufactured.

Some epoxy on the front end brackets and wing mounts.

Rear vents and wing both need re-clear. Oh joy.. Most of the pinhole sanded out after 4 coats of clear, hoping its just one more round later this week.
