SL-C Super Light Kit Car

Haha yeah I still have my gti millenium. Every once in a while I use it. For nostalgia ya know lol. I just can’t get away from my lph’s. They just suit me so well.

If I walked into a paint shop to talk to the owner about doing some paint work and saw the preparations done like above ^^^............ I'd know that's who I would like to do my painting. All that attention to detail (paint stands and masking) tells me that shop doesn't cut corners. Very professional looking.

Job well done !!!

Well I appreciate that.

Started prepping the second bike last night...maybe I forgot to mention my dumbass took on 2 bikes to have done in a few weeks for the Autorama.

Did the final spray outs for the colors on the white bike. Its now up to the owner to pick his flavors.

I think I spent an evening doing the first 18 and then last night maybe I spent 2 hours doing the 5 last ones. I try to make the best of it honestly. I put a good movie on and I just try to have fun exploring new colors. Only part that kind of bugs me is the wasted materials.

OK, the second bike, I am hoping to shoot this one this weekend:

Stripped the front fender, redid some of the very minor bodywork, just put 4 coats of epoxy on it

Rear fender was pretty rough. Fixed what I could find.

^^^ I must have missed it what paint was used.............single stage or bc/cc for the last pictures posted?

This black bike was a last minute deal so I just used what was in my cabinet at this time. Plus I have never sprayed the SPI black single stage, cant really experiment when I have like 10 days to get these bikes done!

Though I understand your concern having to get a job out the door. I don't have any doubts you could spray SPI single stage and make it look just like your bb/cc.

I had a buddy who one year had 2 cars at autorama sitting right next to each other. One was SPI single stage and the other was SPI base with UV clear. They looked different.

Now I cant say whether or not is was something he did, but I'll have to shoot it myself on something and see if there is a difference.

I have never sprayed SPI black base with Universal, only single stage. But this last job with single stage has me thinking I’m going to try base clear on my 57 Buick. It will be a lot easier buffing for an old man..
